She joined Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care in 2005 and appreciates the agency’s devotion to quality care with holistic approach. She became certified in LSVT Big in 2016 in order to work with patients with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders. Lisa Cox holds a BSN degree from Southern Connecticut State University. She has been a nurse since 2012 and has worked in home care since 2014. She enjoys working with the geriatric population and has found Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care a great place to work.

In the most general sense, Home Health Aides provide day to day routine care and assistance to their patients. This may include healthcare tasks such as changing bandages, dressing wounds, applying medications, checking vital signs, monitoring a patient’s health or condition, and reporting changes in a patient’s health status. This includes the severe challenges being seeing in the contract amendment process where, to date, very few amendments have even been able to be circulated between plans and providers, let alone put into place despite the October 1 effective date of the $2 wage increase. HCA also continues to argue the necessity of financial support for wage increases for non-Medicaid hours that aides provide (i.e. Medicare, private pay, EISEP, etc.). HCA has strongly disagreed with DOH’s intention to cast this rate increase into the plan-provider rate negotiation process. As the new wage is a statewide government-mandate, HCA continues to maintain that the rate funding should be distinctly provided and demarcated to the health plans and, in turn, through the health plans to the providers.
